POEM FOR CASSANDRA

Oh Cassandra,
worry not about tomorrow
lest today would pass you by.
Oh Cassandra,
think thee not about the sorrow
or what portent dreams may signify.

Cry out, cry out
and spread the warning.
In the dark of night,
you've seen the morning.
Oh let it not be in vain.

Oh Cassandra,
ten sanguine years behind us,
the time has come to celebrate.
Oh Cassandra,
now that peace has come to find us,
Athena's gift shall guide our fate.

Oh Cassandra,
to tempt the gods was your decision:
Apollo sought to open up your eyes.
Oh Cassandra,
still tormented by the vision,
and Ilium soon to realize.
